Deadly mushrooms that killed 2 in elderly care home reportedly came from backyard
FRESNO, Calif. – A one-page complaint released by the California Department of Social Services said the department is investigating the deaths of two women at a small California eldercare home, but otherwise state officials have released few details of the case. The department's food regulations do not prohibit the use of foraged ingredients in food, though they do prevent the use of home-canned foods and things such as unpasteurized milk, and meat that isn't inspected by state or federal authorities. Department spokesman Michael Weston did not respond to emails asking whether the department is considering modifying its food service requirements in light of the poisonings at the Gold Age Villa, a six-bed care facility in Loomis run since 2007 by Raisa Oselsky. The complaint released Tuesday said "staff fed clients poisonous mushrooms" and "further investigation" is needed.

Key:
- Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual's overall sentiment.
- The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual's average comment sentiment.
- The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual's consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).
Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.
