By keeping a healthy diet in the years after pregnancy, women who develop diabetes during pregnancy can greatly reduce their risk for type 2 diabetes, a new study found. About 5% of pregnant women nationwide develop high blood sugar levels even though they didn't have diabetes before pregnancy. This condition, called gestational diabetes, significantly raises a woman's risk for type 2 diabetes later in life. In type 2 diabetes, cells don't respond properly to insulin, a hormone that signals cells to take the sugar glucose in from the blood. If left untreated, blood sugar levels can soar and cause problems. Complications of type 2 diabetes include heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness and amputation. Research has shown that, among the general population, healthy eating can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Key:
- Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual's overall sentiment.
- The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual's average comment sentiment.
- The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual's consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).
Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.
